Washi Tape: Where and How to use it?
I was one of those that often forgot the washi tape. Well no more. It can be used in some many different places and for so many different things. From home decor to making cards. Now any room can look great with some Washi Tape. Let's see how.
Washi Tape Box

5 Tape Holder
Cardstock – 11 x 6-5/8″
Score on the LONG side at 1, 3, 5-1/2, 8, 10″
Score on the SHORT side at 2, 4-5/8″
3 Tape Holder
Cardstock – 11 x 5-5/8″
Score on the LONG side at 1, 3, 5-1/2, 8, 10″
Score on the SHORT side at 2, 3-5/8″
Stamp all
over your box for design your own.
Cut ends
shorter with a small V , then cut each
score line; on both sides.
Add adhesive
to all for corners stamped side. Fold and attach Small tab to the inside.
Cut the
sides of the fold box with a triangle to the center. Put washi tape around the
bottom to hold it together.
Easy Washi tape switch plates:
Supplies- Light switch plate (pick one up for cheap or just use the one you already have)
- Rubbing alcohol
- Cotton ball
- 2 or more patterns of washi tape
- Craft knife
- Scissors
- Mod Podge Satin
- Foam brush
- Remove your light switch plate from the wall by unscrewing the two screws on the plate above and below the light switch
- Clean the switch plate with a cotton ball and rubbing alcohol to make sure all dirt and oils are removed and ensure good washi adherence.
- Starting in a corner, lay a strip of washi tape across the switch plate at an angle. Continue to line up strips of washi tape next to each other until switch plate is covered. Run fingers over the tape to ensure good contact and that all bubbles are removed.
- Flip plate over and use scissors to trim tape from the edges, leaving a 1/4″ margin past the edge of the plate
- Fold the excess tape over the edge of the switch plate. Use a craft knife to cut an X shape in the rectangular hole. Fold excess tape up and over the edges of the opening. Use tip of craft knife to poke through the screw holes. Insert and remove screws to press excess tape toward back of screw holes.
- o protect tape and make it easier to wipe off grimy fingerprints,
give the switch plate a light coat of Mod Podge Satin applied with a
foam brush in the direction of the tape. Allow to dry completely before
re-installing over your light switch.

Or, transform your favorite photo! Line the matting of your photograph with the pattern of your choice, or cover a flat frame with tape
