Straighten your Big Shot Plates

I simply adore by Big Shot, but it seems the plates always want to warp and has card stock trapped in the grooves. After trying what seems like everything under the sun, I finally found something that works. Thank you IMGUR.

Check out this link: http://imgur.com/a/IqCTy

To recap: We are going to cook our "B" plates.
  • I wrapped it in foil and put it in a Pyrex dish. (My "B" plate did not lay flat in the Pyrex dish. So I placed it with the warp part  up. This way as it cooks, it will flatten the "B" plate.)

  • Now place other heavy dishes on top.

  • Then put the everything in the oven at 170C (325F or gas mark # 3) for 30 minutes. I did check on it a couple of times to make sure it wasn't burning. I could see it was getting flatter and flatter by the end of the 30 minutes.

  • I took everything out of the oven and left it to cool right down until it is cool enough to touch it without burning yourself.

  • Now unwrap the foil and admire your flat "B" plate. Also you will see that the card stock trapped in the grooves can easily be wiped off.

IF you do not have a BIG SHOT; then you are missing all the fun. Get your Stampin Up Big Shot at elainepelletier.stampinup.net

Have you finished your Christmas cards, boxes and ornaments? I have been really working hard on all the SU Punch boards. There have been a few classes the last 2 weeks where we did Boxes, Bows and Stocking gifts. They were a blast. Not to mention we all went home with boxes and bags that just needed to be filled. If missed the classes here are a few pictures of what was made.

The bags above were made on the SU Punch Bag Board and 8 1/2 x 11
Square pillow framelits are a great way to give gifts. These pillow are made with a 6 x12 sheet of DSP. Easy to decorate and fun to make.
Just having some fun with the SU Bag Punch Board. The Santa and Snowman are small bags with a few little creative punches.

These two have an assortment of fun items, including a Christmas ornament, gift card envelopes and boxes make with the  SU envelope punch board.

If you are not ready and need to get your hands on some great items, be sure to contact me at elainepelletier.stampinup.net

Been a FUN, Busy time

It has been a busy few months. Stampin Up and Paper Crafting by Elaine has taken off. I am completely shocked at how much fun I have been having. Making new friends, learning new techniques and giving away free Stampin Up products.

Let me show you some of the awesome projects we have completed.

This is part of the Tin of Cards kit. As you can tell we got creative and used several languages to convey our message.

Just a sample of some of the fun we have had in our card classes. In this card we used Acorny Thank you bundle.

This is the Witches Decor Project kit. We had a ton of fun doing these kits. Actually did this class 3 different times.

Great Halloween Cards from Happy Haunting Stamp set and the wood embossing folder.
This is not the best pictures, but these witches hats have been a big hit. It is made with a 2.5" circle punch and a 1.5' circle punch cut in the center of the 2.5" circle. Then we use 2 trees from the tree punch and placed a medium cloths pin in the middle. To decorate the front we used the Build a bow maker.   This one has been clipped to the side of a cup. The were great on the top of bags for the kids at my grandsons school.

Come by ElainePelletier.stampinup.net  for all your Stampin Up supplies.

Scrapping and Yappin with Bella

Either my craft room is getting smaller or I have too much help. Neither of which is true. My wonderful husband, Wiley, has built me a 1100 sq ft craft room, so it is not too small. As for help, I love having friends over to scrap and yap. But my best friend, never misses a chance to play in the craft room. Bella has her own tool kit, filled with ribbon, scrap paper and her favorite snacks. Most of the time it sits on the table, but when my tool come out to play, her's does too. If I am busy stamping, Bella is too. It never fails I get ink on my fingers, so why would it surprise you that Bella gets ink on her paws.

The questions is: Is she helping? Or just in the way? Love scrapping with my Bella.

If you truly don't want me to THANK YOU, I totally respect that, however, if that is NOT your intent, I'd like to first off apologize that you have not heard from me, and secondly, show you how to change your account so that I can contact you when you order!

I am currently ordering the NEW catalog to be shipped directly to all my customers who have ordered from me in the past year....

Stamps In the Mail Club.

I love making cards, teaching great techniques and enjoying the finish products. However, so many of us work full time, have families and outside activities. When we want to enjoy a project, it should be waiting in our craft room for us to pick up and complete. (Not that lucky). I have a want to change all that.

Starting in April, Paper Crafting by Elaine will be offering an online kit, complete with stamps, paper and embellishments. No membership, just order the monthly  kit you want, and watch the mail. No monthly obligation.

Each month a card set will posted on Paper Crafts by Elaine . If you would like to make this set of cards, email, text or call me. You will receive your pre-cut, pre-punch cardstock, embellishments, etc from PaperCraftsbyElaine. I will even complete step by step directions. Then Stampin Up will ship you the stamps set featured and ink pad. Everything you need to complete the card set on your time. No driving in traffic! No remembering what time you are suppose to be at your class! And best of all, you can complete the kit any time.

To get started, just send me your email address. It's that simple.

Frequently Asked Questions about Stamps in the Mail Club

  • What if I have the stamp set/ink pads already? Easy! You just pick something else you’d like from the Stampin’ Up! catalog. If it’s more, I’ll just add the difference to your PayPal invoice.
  • What if I don’t use PayPal? Also easy! You can send a check or I can take a credit card over the phone
  • Do I get everything I’ll need in the package? Yes! Well, 2 packages. One from me and one direct from Stampin’ Up!. The only thing you’ll need on hand is adhesive and scissors. Everything else is pre-cut, pre-punched, and  etc.
  • What if I only want to do 1 month? That’s just fine! I’ll send an email each month with the supply list and project pictures. If you don’t want that kit, just send me a “no thanks” email. I promise to still be your friend :)
Keep watching, our first kit will be posting soon.

Red Hat Fun

Took a step back from crafting today, to enjoy the day with a great friend. We went to a Red Hat Tea at the Washington Duke Inn in Durham, NC. My first event, and I had a great time. It was a ton of fun using my creative talents to get all dressed up.

The hat I am wearing has a special meaning to Linda, my friend that invited me to the event. See it was her first red hat. (Afraid to ask how many she owns.) Just knowing she would bring it for me to wear, makes me feel special.

Linda is a really good friend, talented crafter and all around caring lady. We go to crops together, are roommate on crafting events, make cards together and sometimes we just sit and talk. Once in a while, we even let our husband's watch sports while we scrap. As you might guess we are best friends. When you have a friend like Linda, you know you are blessed.

Let's Get this Party Started

In the last 30 days, I have allowed my creative side to come to the surface. Joined Stampin Up as a demonstrator, opened an online etsy shop, and started teaching paper crafting. And of course I still love to eat, so I continue to work as a nurse. Enough about how happy and exciting my days can be.

LETS TALK PAPER CRAFTING.

Taught myself how to Bokeh, (almost sounds like a dance). The colors are fantastic, with 3 different techniques you can do just about anything.

Check out my FB page see some of the great cards, then go to Stampin Up to buy your own products to create your own. Stampin Up ink pads and refills added with the Aqua Painters make doing this technique easy.

https://www.facebook.com/PaperCraftingbyElaine?ref=hl

http://www.stampinup.net/esuite/home/elainepelletier/

Now if you are local, sign up for one of the upcoming events with Stampin Up and you can learn to Bokeh too.

See you in class.

Next Bokeh class is April 12th at 1 PM......

Thank you for stopping by........ see you again soon Elaine Pelletier-Brown
